Terms of Service for MemWall

    1. General

    These terms govern the use of the MemWall platform. By creating an account, you accept the terms in their entirety.

    2. User account

    • You are responsible for the information you enter
    • The account is personal and should not be shared
    • You are responsible for keeping login information secure

    3. Service content

    MemWall provides tools for:

    • Digital memory walls
    • Legal document templates
    • Memory capsules and future messages
    • QR links to content

    MemWall is not a funeral home and does not provide legal advice unless explicitly agreed.

    4. Legal documents

    Documents are created based on the user's own choices and information. The user is responsible for:

    • Accuracy
    • Signing
    • That documents meet local legal requirements

    Professional review is offered where specified.

    5. Activation and delivery

    Memory walls, documents, and memory capsules are activated according to:

    • User's own choices
    • Executor
    • Life check / missed check-in
    • Other predefined conditions

    MemWall cannot guarantee activation with incorrect or missing information.

    6. Payment

    Some services are free, others are paid. Price and terms are clearly stated before purchase. Subscriptions can be canceled according to applicable terms.

    7. Limitation of liability

    MemWall is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of data due to user error, or circumstances beyond our control.

    8. Termination

    The user can terminate the account at any time. MemWall reserves the right to close accounts for misuse or breach of terms.

    9. Governing law and disputes

    The terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are sought resolved amicably, alternatively through Norwegian courts.

    10. MemWall Storage Guarantee

    This section describes what happens to your stored content if MemWall ceases operations, and the format-migration commitment for long-horizon storage.

    • What the guarantee covers. The guarantee applies to all content you store with MemWall: memory capsules, memory walls and uploaded media, and our legal products — including the will (testament), the living will (advance healthcare directive) and the power of attorney, with their attachments, witness records and signing documentation.
    • Handover on shutdown. If MemWall winds down, owners and named recipients or executors will receive an encrypted export of their capsules, memory walls and legal documents — including the will, living will and power of attorney — together with the key material required to decrypt it, delivered within 90 days of the shutdown notice.
    • Legal documents remain usable. Legal documents are also exported as printable PDF/A files with their signing and witness details intact, so they remain readable and usable independently of MemWall. The legal validity of a document always depends on the formal requirements in the relevant jurisdiction, including printing and witnessing where required.
    • Format migration. When a stored media or document format is officially deprecated by major browser vendors or standards bodies, MemWall will migrate affected files — including legal documents — to a supported format at no additional cost to the owner.
    • Roadmap: third-party escrow. Independent escrow and an endowment-style reserve for 25+ year capsules and legal documents is on our roadmap. It is not yet contractually in place, and until it is, the commitments above are the operative guarantee.
